Stop vague harness RFQs from wasting your samples and deposits
A buyer-side toolkit for hardware startups, EMS buyers, and overseas procurement teams who need small-batch custom cable & wire harnesses — and keep getting incomparable quotes, swapped connectors, and deposit pressure before anyone agrees what “good” means.
Available now · $49 one-time digital download. Get the kit → No factory contact list. No fake “save $10k” claims.
Who it’s for
Built for
- Hardware startup founders and PMs
- EMS / contract-manufacturing buyers
- Overseas teams sourcing low-volume custom harnesses (often from China)
Not built for
- Buyers who only need Alibaba chat scripts
- Anyone wanting a supplier contact list (those go stale)
- Teams that need the full IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard (buy that from IPC)
What’s inside
A practical Markdown/PDF pack you reuse on every harness RFQ.
- Customize vs off-shelf decision tree — know when not to open a custom RFQ
- Spec checklist — AWG, insulation, connectors, pinout, shielding, environment, tests
- 5 English RFQ email templates — first contact, full RFQ, incomplete-quote follow-up, sample order, ECO
- Supplier scorecard — weighted scoring, factory-vs-trader signals, quality red flags
- Sample & payment milestones — qualification samples before production money moves
- Scam & quality failure patterns — bait pricing, material swaps, revision amnesia
- One-page “send this to a supplier” pack — same requirements to 3–5 vendors
- Appendices — blank scorecard, quote comparison grid, glossary, engineer parking lot
What it helps you do
- Force comparable quotes — same revision, same test scope, same substitution rules
- Fill the blanks before suppliers invent assumptions — harness-specific checklist
- Score capability, not only unit price — weighted scorecard
- Stage payment after a qualification sample — with test records
- Stay vendor-neutral — keep the method when suppliers change
Honest scope
No fabricated case studies. No fake savings claims. Not legal, customs, or engineering sign-off. Where a number must come from your engineer (ampacity, hipot, pull force, UL path), the kit says verify with engineer.
It will not guarantee a good supplier. It reduces self-inflicted RFQ failures: unclear specs, incomparable quotes, and paying production money before a sample exists.
Free RFQ Starter (email optional)
One sharp page: 5 fields that make harness quotes useless + a mini 3-quote comparison scorecard. Useful alone. Teases the paid kits — not a truncated dump.

FAQ
Is this a list of Chinese harness factories?
No. Contact lists rot. You get a reusable buyer method, templates, and scorecards.
Do I need to speak Chinese?
No. All templates are English. Many harness exporters quote in English.
Is this the IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard?
No. It references IPC/WHMA-A-620 as workmanship language buyers should ask about. Buy the official standard from IPC if you need full acceptance criteria.
Can I use this outside China sourcing?
Yes. The RFQ discipline works for any region; examples assume overseas buyers talking to China-based makers because that is a common pain case.
